We aim to be more than just another accounting firm simply offering accounting and taxation compliance services. Our intention is to be a proactive and innovative accounting and advisory firm delivering personal, timely and quality advice together with cost effective strategies and solutions.
We have outlined some of the issues below that you may face that we can certainly help you with.
We work together with you, your family and your solicitor to minimise any unnecessary disputes that may arise upon death. We are able to plan for the future to ensure assets are transitioned in a tax effective way and is dealt with within the terms of your will.
A capital gain or capital loss on an asset is the difference between what it cost you and what you receive when you dispose of it. All assets you’ve acquired since tax on capital gains started (on 20 September 1985) are subject to CGT unless specifically excluded. Most personal assets are exempt from CGT, including your home, car, and most personal use assets, such as furniture.
If you are unsure if an asset you own is subject to capital gains or not, please contact one of our team members.
At some point in your life, you will step aside from your business and an important step leading up to this event is succession planning. Stepping aside from your business does not happen overnight and may take years in planning. If you own a farm, this may involve planning with the next generation or if you own a professional business it may involve training and mentoring your successor. Your success and that of the future business may rest on your ability to plan and ensure a smooth transition.

As the financial year comes to a close, we evaluate where our client’s profitability is year to date and provide budgets for the remainder of the year. We work closely with our clients to provide suggestions on ways to minimise the amount of tax they may pay. If you would like to review your business, please do not hesitate to contact one of our offices.
The market price of a business is the price a vendor is willing accept and the price a purchaser is prepared to pay. We assist our clients in determining an acceptable price to market their business based on a number of calculations. Conversely, we also assist our clients looking to buy a business to determine to reasonableness of the asking price.

Any event undertaken comes with an associated risk, our role is to help identify those risks and put plans in place to minimise undesirable outcomes. One area of risk management is the structure chosen to operate your business, some structures offer more protection than others. Once a structure is chosen, it should be continually reviewed to ensure it remains best suited to your needs. Please feel free to contact us to discuss your personal circumstances.
